This is an excellent opportunity for a Government Grants Administrator (40hrs/wk) at our Jackson Street office located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Government Grant Administrator oversees and administers Title X, Title V and government grant programs ensuring agency compliance.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, public administration or related field. Minimum of three years non-profit grant administration and proposal writing experience (preferably related to healthcare) required or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent and effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understand and interpret complex rules and regulations.
- Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet frequent deadlines.
- Work independently and in collaboration with PPWI leadership and personnel.
- Ability to perform research related to grant opportunities and locate data and statistics for grant applications.
- Comfortable speaking in various settings to groups of PPWI personnel and with government program personnel.
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word and ability to utilize computerized grants management tools such as “Grant Solutions” site.
- Convene, organize and facilitate efficient, effective meetings.
- Ability to effectively influence decision makers.
- Ability to travel, including overnight trips approximately six times per year.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires occasional traveling statewide, therefore a valid driver’s license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and administers all aspects of agency government grants programs.
- Research, write and submit grant applications and budgets for Title X, Title V, and other state, federal and local grant programs in collaboration with related staff (e.g. Finance, Patient Services, Education, IT, Human Resources)
- Monitor program activities, ensuring compliance with related grant program objectives, progress toward meeting objectives, work plan adherence, etc., in collaboration with related staff.
- Compile clinical data, statistical and other relevant information related to each grant program, review information for accuracy; write, edit and submit statistical and narrative grant reports for government grant programs, including use of the Federal and State Internet-based reporting systems in collaboration with related staff.
- Serve as the main agency liaison and steward to government grant program staff regarding Title X, Title V and other government funded grant programs and represent their interests within PPWI; Disseminate information internally to relevant staff and Title X delegate agencies when indicated.
- Collaborate with Title X Delegate Agencies to collect information for Title X grant applications and reports and to ensure compliance with grant objectives.
- In collaboration with other agency grant writers or administrators, identify, prioritize and pursue new sources of government funding and review the overall portfolio of grants.
- Maintain system for tracking, producing and submitting timely and compliant applications, reports and related updates.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of all of PPWI’s electronic and hard copy government grant files.
- Participate as a staff member on the Educational Materials Review Advisory Committee to ensure compliance with Title X regulations.
