A: In 2007, our community education staff and volunteers provided educational programming to over 14,000 individuals throughout Wisconsin. While we reach most people through our school-based programs, we also lead educational workshops in community centers and homes.
We have several different educational programs, many of which we are proud to offer in English or Spanish. Our culturally-competent programs are designed to give our participants the most relevant reproductive and sexual health information for them. To adults, we teach about healthy sexuality, as well as the importance of preventive screenings and early detection of breast and cervical cancers. We also provide workshops for adults, caregivers and professionals to help them better offer sexuality education and reproductive health for the youth they work with. Our programs for teens encourage the postponement of sexual activity in those who are not yet sexually active. But at the same time, we provide accurate information about reproductive health care to everyone. We focus on teaching teens about the significance of healthy decision-making in relationships.
