From the President and CEO |
Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin's web site. I invite you to browse the pages and learn more about what Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin does. We also welcome your comments and suggestions.
I am honored to serve as President and CEO of this important organization. It is a rare gift when one gets the opportunity to work in an organization whose cause is so fundamental to one’s own values and beliefs. I feel a strong attachment to this agency, its people, and its communities.
This is a time of great change and uncertainty for all of us. PPWI has been directly affected by the rising costs of providing care, changing trends in contraceptive use, a shortage of nurse practitioners and registered nurses (the primary providers of care in Planned Parenthood health centers) and unfavorable economic conditions. We are committed to moving PPWI to a position of strength over the next twelve months. To do so, we are creating new business strategies as well as evaluating all of our services to ensure we are serving our patients in the most efficient and sustainable ways possible.
Our mission remains strong and our vision remains clear. In 2008, PPWI served more than 70,000 patients, reached over 9,000 women, men, teens and young adults in the Wisconsin community through our educational programs and empowered more than 200 activists and advocates to protect our reproductive health and rights in the legislature. Like you, I am dedicated to seeing Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin thrive.
PPWI is fortunate to have dedicated health care providers who are serving Wisconsin women and families every day at our 27 health centers, as well as a core of staff educators and advocates who teach prevention and help us achieve our vision. But most of all, we are fortunate to have you.
Thank you for everything you do to help us advance our mission.
Sincerely yours,
Teresa Huyck President and CEO
