Organization

Building strong communities, one person at a time.

Since 1935, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (PPWI) has provided reproductive health care and sexuality education to people throughout Wisconsin. Our mission is to empower all individuals to manage their sexual and reproductive health through patient services, education and advocacy.

With the generous support of private donations and public grants, PPWI looks to a future where women have access to the reproductive health care they need, teenagers receive medically accurate and non-biased sexuality education, and legislators make responsible and compassionate decisions about women's rights and women's bodies.

Programs and Services

Health care. We provide health care to more than 70,000 people each year in our 27 health centers across the state. Services provided include:
  • Annual health exams
  • All methods of contraception, including emergency contraception
  • Cancer screening
  • Colposcopy
  • Pregnancy testing and counseling
  • Sexually transmitted infections testing and treatment
  • Abortion care
  • Breast and testicular exams
No one is turned away because of inability to pay--we work hard to keep everyone healthy.

All of our services are based on a sliding-fee scale. We also accept Medicaid (T19), BadgerCare and can bill most insurance plans.

Research shows that providing accessible health care services improves the health of families by reducing the number of unintended pregnancies, infant deaths and maternal mortality.

Education. We offer comprehensive, medically accurate, age-appropriate sexuality education to thousands of young people and adults each year. PPWI educators work with community partners to encourage healthy decision making and early detection and prevention to close racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes

Advocacy. Our public affairs program aims to protect and expand access to comprehensive reproductive health care and education. We also empower Wisconsin residents to make their voices heard on these issues.
